Gordon has gone from strength to strength since joining the Magpies from Everton at the start of 2023. He has established himself as one of the Tyneside club’s mainstays, and his consistent performances have attracted a lot of attention.

Newcastle haven’t been at their best this season, but Gordon has certainly played his part. The left winger played in 38 games in all competitions and contributed 19 goals (15 goals, 4 assists).

He prefers to play wide on the left, but has also been used in a number nine role. He does a great job across the front line and his versatility is one of the reasons rival clubs want to sign him.

His contract runs until 2029 and the Magpies will be in control of negotiations. But that doesn’t deter interested clubs. Arsenal are believed to be the most serious suitors. With the futures of Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli uncertain, Gordon is seen as an ideal addition on the left flank.

The Gunners will face stiff competition from Manchester United and Liverpool. Both clubs have inquired about his availability over the past year. But the north London club, long-time fans, stole the march from their rivals.

Arsenal are aiming for a £75m deal, while the Magpies could seek closer to £95m. Arteta’s side believe Gordon will be open to the possibility of a move. The Red Devils could be ready to offer around £80m, which could cause problems for the Gunners. Liverpool were keen to sign him last summer, but reports suggest Newcastle will avoid selling him to a direct rival.
