  • Leeds demand big money for Xhaka Bijol
  • Liverpool to keep an eye on Bujol’s surprise transfer

Leeds United have reportedly sent a clear message to potential suitors that Xhaka Bijol will not leave Elland Road lightly.

The Slovenian international has become a key part of Daniel Farke’s defense and the club are prepared to demand a hefty return should they decide to cash in this summer.

Speaking on Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, transfer expert Pete O’Rourke highlighted the defender’s growing reputation.

He described Biyol as a “monster of a centre-back” and highlighted the player’s physicality and aerial dominance as the main factors behind his rising stock.

Leeds acquired Bujol’s services from Udinese last summer for a bargain fee of around £15 million.

However, his rating soared after a string of excellent performances that helped Leeds move towards Premier League safety.

Coach O’Rourke explained: “Bijol is a monster centre-back, he loves the physical side of the game and he’s also very good in the air.

“Leeds at the moment, if they can keep up this form it will look positive for them and they will want to keep their best players and build on what they have achieved this season.

“Bijol was a bit cheap at £15m from Udinese and it would cost a lot of money for Leeds to even consider moving him straight away.”

Liverpool to keep an eye on Bujol’s surprise transfer

Leeds’ resolute stance comes amid growing rumors linking the 27-year-old with a move to Liverpool.

With Ibrahima Konate’s future at Anfield uncertain and top target Marc Guehi missing out, manager Arne Slott is reportedly looking to add to his defense on the market.

Bijol quickly adapted to the rigors of English football, producing outstanding performances against the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.

His ability to deal with the “physical side of the game” has made him a prime target for clubs looking for a proven and seasoned centre-half.

His contract runs until 2030 and Leeds hold all the cards in any potential negotiations.

Liverpool may see Viyol as a replacement for a more expensive target, but they will still need to spend big to convince Leeds to part with their defensive talisman.
