  • Liverpool are considering a change at left-back
  • The Reds will have to pay a hefty fee for Brown.

Liverpool have increased their interest in Eintracht Frankfurt defender Nathaniel Brawn as they prepare for an important summer rebuild.

According to TEAMtalk, the Merseyside club are in competition with Premier League rivals Arsenal to sign the 22-year-old.

This season, the Reds’ title defense hasn’t gone as planned. Liverpool are fifth in the table with 48 points, 16 behind leaders Arsenal, and are struggling to find consistency, particularly at the back.

Regardless of where they end up, there are signs pointing to a significant transfer window, with left-back emerging as a key area under consideration.

Liverpool are considering a change at left-back

Andy Robertson has been the driving force behind Liverpool’s success in recent years, playing a key role in winning the Premier League and Champions League.

However, his contract is set to expire on June 30th, and uncertainty surrounds his future.

With the 31-year-old without a contract extension set, Liverpool will need to carefully consider their succession plans.

The £40m signing of Milos Kerkes from Bournemouth last summer was aimed at injecting energy and longevity into the position.

The Hungarian has shown signs of being a promising player in attack, but he has not yet been able to exclude Robertson from the starting XI.

Enter Nathaniel Brown. Primarily a left-back but equally capable of playing higher up the pitch, Brown impressed in the Bundesliga with his speed, inverted movement and ability to contribute creatively in advanced areas.

Braun’s contract with Frankfurt runs until June 2030, and the German club is in a good position in negotiations.

With Robertson’s future uncertain and manager Kerkes still not completely satisfied, there could be major changes on the left flank.

According to reports, he will require at least €65m (£57m) to approve the sale, a high sum reflecting his age and growing reputation.

The competition will only intensify with reports of interest from Arsenal. League leaders are also praising his defensive depth, and competition between England’s two top clubs could push prices up.
