Jamie O’Hara was furious after Crystal Palace beat Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday night, punching a player and claiming he was Championship level.
Tudor claims Crystal Palace defeat gives him hope of survival
Igor Tudor was the most positive man in Tottenham’s camp at full-time, despite watching his side suffer another miserable defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace.
Worse than Van de Ven: flop 2/10 must never wear a Spurs shirt again
Tottenham are in danger of being relegated from the Premier League.
As the stadium emptied at half-time, the Croatian claimed he saw enough of a fight to increase his players’ chances of survival. But the reality is that the Lilywhites currently sit just one point above the drop zone, with a trip to Anfield next weekend awaiting them.
Tudor told reporters: “Of course we understand how the fans feel. It happens often in football. They are disappointed. They wanted more. We know that.”
“We also wanted to contribute more. Unfortunately, this is the moment when we pay everything. One red card can change everything. I’ll say it now. It may sound strange, but after this game I believe more than before. I saw something.”
“The boat is going in the direction I want it to go, it needs to go, and the people on the boat can stay, so I have to pick the right people, or they can bow out, or whatever you say, and leave the boat.”
“So if the other players come back and pick the right players, I think we’ll have a good team and the wins will come back. It’s not easy to accept where we are right now, but it is what it is.”
Rumors have already begun to emerge about Tudor’s future, with Robbie Keane among the candidates to replace him.
O’Hara clashes with Championship-level Tottenham star
Fans weren’t the only ones to be outraged by Crystal Palace’s performance. Former player and talkSport pundit Jamie O’Hara has slammed several Tottenham players, including Matthijs Tell, who joined in the summer for £30m. O’Hara didn’t shy away from harsh reviews.
“This team is terrible. These players are terrible. They’re championship players. They’re championship players.
“Pape Sarr is a Championship player. Conor Gallagher. I’ll never know how he played at Atletico Madrid. He was terrible. Absolutely terrible. Souza, who is this kid? He looks like he has two left feet. It’s embarrassing to be honest. In all seriousness, the team is absolutely terrible.”
“Matisse Tell. I could have told you last season, Donkey could have said he was trash, and Donkey could have said last season, Tell is not good enough. He’s not good enough. And we signed him permanently. It’s unbelievable.”
It’s not just the suggestion that Spurs could fall apart. With eight games left, there is a chance they could be in the relegation zone for the first time this season by next weekend.
