Manchester United are currently in the race to sign an “incredible” Premier League star, with Tottenham Hotspur already making an offer.
Man United to sign attacking midfielder
With Casemiro set to leave at the end of his contract, Manuel Ugarte’s future in doubt and manager Fabrizio Romano recently admitting there is interest from other countries, Manchester United will need reinforcements in midfield this summer.
A relocation expert said: “Casemiro is leaving on a free transfer, but there are moves around Ugarte that several clubs have already expressed interest. There are clubs in Italy that are considering the possibility of signing Ugarte, and there is also interest from Italy.”
“In January there was an interest from Galatasaray, but since then there has been nothing concrete and nothing has progressed so all parties have decided not to proceed. However, in the summer Ugarte will consider his options and could ultimately leave Manchester United.”
The Red Devils may therefore need to bring in at least two new midfielders, but there are a number of options on the shortlist, with Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimarães among the targets.
However, TEAMtalk reports that United are also keen on signing an attacking-focused midfielder and have entered the race to sign AFC Bournemouth star Marcus Tavernier.
Tottenham Hotspur are currently concerned about a takeover, having already made multiple inquiries about the attacking midfielder, while Newcastle United have also expressed strong interest ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils see Tavernier as a versatile option in attack, but some of his performances in the Premier League this season suggest he is ready to step up…

‘Incredible’ Tavernier may be ready for a big move
Hailed as “incredible” by former AFC Bournemouth manager Gary O’Neill, the English player has shown his versatility this season by playing in attacking midfield and on either wing, scoring five goals and providing four assists in 25 Premier League games.
No Bournemouth player has made more goal contributions this season, but the 26-year-old has the second highest FotMob rating of 7.12 in the squad, ahead of Ugarte, Mason Mount and Koby Mainu.
The Bournemouth star’s pace was also on display in his side’s 1-1 draw with Brighton in January, where he played a big role in winning and then converting a penalty.
Having proven himself in the Premier League, Tavernier could be ready to make the step up to a top club in the division, but Bournemouth are in a better position in negotiations as he is under contract until 2029.
