Arsenal keen to sign Viktor Osimhen
Sportsboom reports that Arsenal are very interested in the 27-year-old Nigeria international, with manager Mikel Arteta seeing him as the “last piece of the puzzle”. The Galatasaray striker has contributed to 24 goals this season.
Arsenal have put together a formidable squad, but they need a reliable goalscorer if they are to challenge for big trophies on a regular basis. Victor Gokeres has not performed well and Gabriel Jesus is expected to leave the club at the end of the season. Osimhen is an unusual signing and could transform Arsenal’s attack.
The opportunity to join one of England’s biggest clubs will be an exciting one for the Nigerian. He has proven his quality in France, Italy and Türkiye. Now could be the perfect time for him to take on a new challenge in the Premier League.
Manchester United could use Osimhen
Similarly, Manchester United could also add more depth to their attacking line. Joshua Zirkzee is expected to be sold in the summer and an experienced striker is needed to support Benjamin Sesco.
It remains to be seen whether they are prepared to pay Osimhen’s asking price. €140 million is a lot of money and the two Premier League clubs will need to strengthen other areas of their squad as well. It will be interesting to see if they are ready to break the bank for a striker.
