  • Julian Alvarez has reached a new level with Atlético
  • Barcelona faces competition from Arsenal and Chelsea

Atletico Madrid are reportedly determined to thwart Barcelona’s bid to sign Julián Alvarez, as speculation intensifies over the Argentine striker’s future ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to Diario Sport, the Spanish club have no intention of strengthening their domestic rivals and will reject any approach from the Catalan side.

According to reports, the club could consider offers from the Premier League, but only if the offer significantly exceeds €100 million.

Arsenal and Chelsea are among the clubs thought to be closely monitoring Alvarez’s situation.

Julian Alvarez has reached a new level with Atlético

Since joining Atlético Madrid, Julián Álvarez has become a mainstay in Diego Simeone’s attacking team.

The 26-year-old Argentina international has been praised for his relentless work rate, pressing ability and versatility in the final third.

Alvarez can function both as a central striker and as part of a more fluid attacking system, making him particularly valuable in Simeone’s tactical approach.

His ability to combine intelligent movement with clinical finishing has made him one of the club’s most consistent attacking threats.

The forward has also had an important career on the international stage. Alvarez played a key role in Argentina’s victory at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and his performances alongside Lionel Messi have increased his reputation in the world of football.

Barcelona are looking to strengthen their attacking line-up in the coming years and have reportedly admired Alvarez for some time, but competition from Premier League clubs is likely to make their lives difficult.

The Catalan giants are looking for a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski and are eyeing Alvarez in this summer’s transfer window.
