  • Crystal Palace offer price for Wharton revealed
  • Man United and Man City lead race for signing

Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton is attracting attention from some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs.

Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool are all linked with a move for the young English midfielder, who impressed at Selhurst Park.

With most top clubs looking to strengthen their midfield, Wharton has emerged as a top target.

At Palace, he showed consistency, quality passing and maturity at a young age.

Wharton’s future is uncertain, with Palace recently losing players such as Ebelesi Eze and Marc Guehi, and manager Oliver Glasner set to leave the club, but it appears that the club and Palace will not stand in his way if they get what they want in the young midfielder.

Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke spoke about Wharton’s future and revealed how much teams would have to pay if they were interested in signing the midfielder.

he said:

“He is clearly one of the players on United’s list as they look to rebuild their midfield next season.

“There’s a lot of players they’re looking at and Wharton is on that list. I think it would be a huge payday to try and get him.”

“For a young player like this who has shown great potential and can develop further, you would probably expect to pay upwards of £70 million.

“If there is any indication that Adam Wharton could be signed from Palace this summer, it would be an open race.”

Wharton is attracting attention as a player who can bring stability to the midfield and control the midfield with his passing and ball retention.

Meanwhile, Man City are likely looking for a long-term replacement for Rodri, and Wharton fits the profile of the player they are looking for.
