Anfield was completely rocked on Tuesday night as Liverpool thoroughly defeated Galatasaray 4-0, overturning a slim 1-0 deficit in the first leg and confidently progressing into the Champions League quarter-finals.

After a checkered spell in the Premier League recently, Arne Slott’s side were in desperate need of a big, expressive performance and they delivered just that.

Goals from Dominik Szoboszlai, Hugo Ekitike, Ryan Gravenbirch and Egyptian king Mohamed Salah gave the Reds a 4-1 aggregate victory and set up a mouthwatering last-eight showdown with defending champions Paris Saint-Germain.

But amidst all the celebrations, a late injury scare for Salah left fans holding their breath.

Despite a vintage late masterclass, Salah’s night ended on a slightly worrying note.

Immediately after scoring a stunning goal and rattling the crossbar, the winger signaled to the bench and asked for a substitution. He received a huge ovation and left, but he looked a little uncomfortable.

Speaking to the media after the final whistle, Slott acknowledged the situation but kept his cards close to his chest as to the seriousness of the issue.

“Mo Salah asked to be substituted. He felt something… so let’s see where he is at the weekend.” Fabrizio Romano’s report revealed the slot.

The 4-0 win against Galatasaray showed that the attacking depth is growing, but Salah remains the ultimate difference-maker on the big stage.

For now, the Anfield faithful will spend the next 48 hours sweating over the latest updates from the medical team.

Liverpool now have three tough games in three different competitions. They travel to Brighton for a league match, the Etihad Stadium for the FA Cup quarter-finals and Paris to face PSG in the Champions League.

Salah needs to get fit as soon as possible to protect his chances of winning silver this season.
