The Gunners will take on Manchester City at Wembley this Sunday for their first silver medal of the season. This match could also be an important element in this season’s title race between these two clubs.

Man City manager Josep Guardiola has already confirmed that he will play substitute goalkeeper James Trafford against Arsenal, but when asked who will start in goal for his side, Arteta simply said: “We’ll see.”

Raya is established as Arsenal’s number one keeper, but although Kepa has been the team’s cup goalkeeper so far this season, Arteta has not ruled out introducing Raya in this all-important game.

Arteta answered a question about Kepa vs. Raya and gave little, but added that there is no big difference as both are quality players with a lot of experience at the top level.

Arsenal fans will probably be hoping that Arteta won’t take any risks given the importance of this match, and Raya would certainly be the safer option.

The Spanish shot-stopper has put in some great performances during his time at the Emirates Stadium and certainly deserves a chance to start in a match that could finally see the north London giants lift their first trophy since 2020.

Again, it is important to keep the players happy and if Kepa were to be left out of this match, having played in every other Carabao Cup match so far, it would clearly show a lack of confidence in him.
