Crystal Palace handed over unexpected cash after reaching the Conference League quarter-finals

Crystal Palace have qualified for the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa Conference League this season.

We had to work hard to win 2-1 against AEK Larnaca, but we managed to get the job done. They will face Italian club Fiorentina in a two-legged draw due to the wind in Cyprus.

Crystal Palace need to improve their performance if they are to advance to the semi-finals of this competition. They were very wasteful in the knockout rounds and could be punished against the Italian team.

Meanwhile, the Eagles reached the quarter-finals of a European competition for the first time in their history, earning £1.1 million in prize money (h/t Wear Palace) for reaching the final eight of the competition.

It remains to be seen whether they can continue to compete and eventually win their first European Cup. They had a fantastic run under Oliver Glasner, helping them win the FA Cup and Community Shield. If he can lead the team to the European Cup now, he will undoubtedly go down as the most legendary manager in their history.

Glasner is set to leave Crystal Palace in the summer and will be hoping to bring home a big trophy before making the move.

Crystal Palace could end up making around £6m. If they can make it all the way through the tournament and win the UEFA Europa Conference League final.

Winning the tournament would secure them a spot in next season’s UEFA Europa League, which would be a huge financial boost for them.
