  • What’s next for Mohamed Salah?

Mohamed Salah has confirmed he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season, but the Reds could have earmarked as much as £150m for the player they would lose on a free transfer.

According to ESPN, Salah was offered £150m by Saudi Professional League giants Al Ittihad, but Liverpool appear to have renewed interest in the Egyptian international and have apparently rejected a deal for Salah in 2023.

Salah is reportedly expected to be allowed to leave Liverpool for free despite having one year left on his contract, and it will certainly hurt the club a bit to miss out on such a big transfer fee.

Of course, it’s also worth remembering that while Salah had arguably his best season at Liverpool just a year ago, his form has dropped significantly since then, and things can change quickly in football.

Liverpool will not sell Mohamed Salah from last season for £150m

Liverpool won’t be trading Salah’s exceptional form last season for £150m, but it probably won’t be enough to replace him with a player of the same caliber.

Salah won the Golden Boot award when he led LFC to the Premier League title, fully establishing himself as one of the Reds’ greatest ever players.

£150m may be good for the club’s finances, but fans won’t think of it that way, nor should they, even if they’re lucky enough to witness such greatness from one of the best players of the Premier League era.

Salah is clearly beyond his best at the moment, so he probably won’t get paid that much, but it was definitely worth it for the 33-year-old to win the title in such style last season.

What’s next for Mohamed Salah?

As reported here yesterday, Salah could move to the Saudi Pro League, but he is also attracting interest from MLS giants San Diego FC.

There is no doubt there will be a lot of interest in the former Roma player and more names may be revealed in the future.

ESPN has strongly linked Salah with Al Ittihad, but Al Nasr and Al Hilal have indicated they will not pursue him this summer.
