Liverpool are reportedly unlikely to be able to use Codi Gakpo as part of a deal for RB Leipzig winger Yann Diomande, according to Christian Falk.
In his column for CF Bayern Insider, Falk exclusively revealed that Paris Saint-Germain could rival the Reds to sign Diomand this summer.

Gakpo has had a disastrous spell at Liverpool and the club could perhaps replace the Dutch international with a better attacking option ahead of next season.
Still, Falk believes it is unlikely that the Merseyside giants will be able to use Gakpo for Diomande in any deal with Leipzig.
Latest information on Yann Diomande’s transfer to Liverpool
Discussing the latest on Diomand and Liverpool in today’s column, Falk said:I heard rumors that a swap deal between Kodi Gakpo and Diomando is in the works.
“With Mo Salah set to leave this summer, Liverpool need a replacement and it will be difficult to bring in Michael Olise. We know that because Bayern Munich have made that clear. So bringing in Yann Diomande would be a good option.”
“But there is no truth to the rumors of a swap deal. I heard that there was no offer from Liverpool and Leipzig will not do this swap deal because Gakpo is too expensive. Needless to say, they have a completely different profile in mind. They are looking for young players who can develop at the club. Therefore, they are not interested in Kodi Gakpo.”
PSG’s rivals Liverpool sign Yann Diomande
Unsurprisingly, LFC are not the only club to be following Diomande, who has enjoyed an exciting run in the Bundesliga this summer with the Ivorian international.
With 10 goals and 6 assists in the German league so far this season, it’s clear that Diomande is a very exciting young talent who could make a splash at a big club.
Liverpool need a player like that to prepare for life after Salah, but Falk says PSG appear to be threatening that possibility.
Regarding PSG’s interest in the 19-year-old, who is valued at €100 million, Falk said:I heard that there were always Liverpool scouts in the stands at recent RB Leipzig games. But there was a scout from PSG as well, so be careful, Liverpool!
“The big advantage is that RB Leipzig will sell him if they receive an offer that exceeds their terms.” 100 million euro mark. Bayern Munich are also interested in the 19-year-old, but will not be involved in poker as he would be too expensive for the Bavarians. This is good news for the Premier League and PSG.”
