Former Borussia Dortmund captain Marco Reus has publicly advised Jadon Sancho to reject a permanent move to the Premier League and prioritize a return to the Westfalenstadion.

Despite showing glimpses of his immense talent under Unai Emery, Sancho has struggled to make a consistent showing in the Midlands, scoring just one goal and providing three assists in 31 appearances in all competitions.
Reus, whose contract with Manchester United is due to expire this summer, has backed his former team-mate to return to Dortmund in a bid to save his career.
Marco Reus advises Jadon Sancho to return to Borussia Dortmund
Reus, who forged a huge partnership with Sancho between 2017 and 2021, insisted in an interview with German newspaper Bild that mental well-being is now more important to the winger than financial gain.
“My advice to Jadon is, first and foremost, to look for a place where he can feel comfortable again and rediscover his game. And if that is BVB, it will be good for both him and Dortmund! He knows what the game requires.”
Reus also praised Sancho, adding:
“I have rarely played with a player who instinctively made such good decisions in tense situations. He was quiet and introspective at times, but he still had a good sense of humour.
“Apart from assists and goals, he knows what the game needs and what his teammates need. He is a player who can draw two or three opponents to himself and judge exactly when to involve his teammates at the right time.”
Dortmund are keen to re-sign Reus
Interest is not one-sided. According to reports from Germany, Dortmund are keen to bring Sancho back for a third stint, but that comes with strict conditions.
The best years of Sancho’s career came with the German giants, where he scored 53 goals and assisted a further 67 in 158 games in all competitions.

Despite playing for three different clubs – Chelsea, Manchester United and Aston Villa – he struggled to replicate his form in the Premier League.
Villa have not completely ruled out a permanent move, but a return to Germany is probably Sancho’s best option to revive his career.
