Everton are reportedly keeping a close eye on Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins as a summer transfer target.
The Toffees are understood to be eyeing Watkins as an option to strengthen their forward line should he become available after a slightly below-average season at Villa Park.

This is as reported by Football Insider, which also quotes former Premier League scout Mick Brown as saying Watkins could be an “outstanding” addition to David Moyes’ side.
Everton have had a great season and a good summer could go a long way towards establishing themselves as more genuine top-four contenders, and perhaps signing Watkins could take them to the next level.
Mick Brown says Ollie Watkins’ move to Everton is ‘fantastic’
Speaking about Watkins’ relationship with Everton, Brown told Football Insider: “Olly Watkins would be a great option for Everton.
He added: “I still think he’s a great option for Aston Villa, but I think they’re thinking of selling him at the end of the season due to financial issues.”
“Watkins is one of those strikers who always works hard, moves channels, gets behind defenders and causes problems.
“He may not be the most consistent in front of goal and his first touch may not always be perfect, but he gives you something that not many strikers these days have.
“Additionally, he has extensive experience in the Premier League and has proven over the years that he can score goals at the highest level.
“For Everton, they are still not convinced with the strikers they have and Watkins would definitely upgrade them.”
What’s next for Ollie Watkins?
Watkins had previously been linked with a move to a bigger club, but that opportunity now appears to have passed.
The 30-year-old has been a great servant to Villa and in his prime would have been a useful option for suitors such as Arsenal and Manchester United.
| Watkins Aston Villa Form | game | the goal |
| 2023/24 | 53 | 27 |
| 2024/25 | 54 | 17 |
| 2025/26 | 43 | 10 |
Watkins scored 17 goals in all competitions last season, but his numbers have dropped to just 10 so far this season, and it looks like age is starting to catch up with him.
