Liverpool remain in active talks with Ibrahima Konate and his camp over a new contract.
Negotiations are underway with the French defender. As of now, nothing has been decided or agreed upon, but discussions are still ongoing.

All Real Madrid can say at this point is that a few months ago, before Christmas, they informed Liverpool that they were not proceeding with a deal for Ibrahima Konate.
However, Real Madrid remain on the market for centre-backs, with David Alaba expected to leave the club in the summer, and could add another to the centre-back position.
Ibrahima Konate willing to stay at Liverpool, no progress with Real Madrid
At the moment, there is nothing going on with Real Madrid regarding Konate, nothing concrete. Negotiations are ongoing with Liverpool and we’ll see if we can come to an agreement financially.
The player is open to staying at Liverpool, but it is clearly an important contract for his career, so talks will continue with new contacts expected in April to finalize Ibrahima Konate’s future in terms of a possible transfer or new contract as soon as possible.

- February 13th – Arne Slott told a press conference that Liverpool are continuing contract negotiations with Konate and hope the France international stays.
- April 2nd – According to The Athletic, dressing room sources claim Konate is more likely to remain at Liverpool than leave.
