Leeds United striker Joe Gerhart is currently on loan at Hull City and has been a hugely impressive addition to Hull City’s promotion bids.
The striker has contributed 17 goals for Hull City this season and is keen to get Hull City back into the Premier League. According to journalist James Hogarth, the player has decided to leave Leeds United permanently at the end of the season and would like to join the Tigers.

Joe Gerhardt had an excellent record at Hull.
He has established himself as a key player for the Tigers and hopes to play regularly at this stage of his career. It doesn’t make much sense for him to return to Leeds United. He is not wanted by Premier League clubs and will want to resolve his long-term future quickly. The player has one year left on his current contract with Leeds and the Premier League will be hoping to recoup a fair amount from his departure over the next period.
Meanwhile, the player is well established at Hull City and the Tigers will be delighted to have him remain with the club. It remains to be seen whether both clubs can agree on a profitable contract.
Leeds could use funds from Gerhard’s sale
Leeds United are fighting to stay top of the table and are 15th in the league table. Although we are four points above the drop zone, we cannot afford to be satisfied here. To ensure they remain in the Premier League next season, they need to perform at a high level.
They are looking to further strengthen their squad in the summer, and selling a player like Gerhard would allow them to invest in high-quality reinforcements.
