The first major of the year will be decided at the 2026 Masters, which the PGA Tour will host at Augusta National Golf Club. The tournament begins on Thursday, April 9th, with big names chasing the coveted green jacket in a star-studded field including Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm. McIlroy will enter the 2026 Masters as the defending champion and will aim to become the first golfer since Tiger Woods (2001-02) to successfully defend his Masters title.

According to the latest 2026 Masters odds, world No. 1 Scheffler is listed as a +500 betting favorite. Rahm (+1000), DeChambeau (+1000) and McIlroy (+1300) follow on the PGA odds board. Should the 2026 Masters pick include supporting one of the favorites, or should they go for a big name like Brooks Koepka (+4000) or Jordan Spieth (+4500)? Before you lock in your 2026 Masters picks, be sure to check out our golf predictions and projected leaderboards from SportsLine’s proven computer model.

SportsLine’s proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, simulates every event on the PGA Tour 10,000 times. This same model was successful at a whopping 16 majors entering the weekend, including the 2025 Masters, which will be the fourth consecutive Masters, and last year’s PGA Championship and British Open Championship.

Now that the 2026 Masters field is confirmed, the model has simulated the tournament 10,000 times and the results are surprising. Visit SportsLine now to see the predicted leaderboards.

2026 Masters predictions for Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm

One pick from the 2026 Masters model: Rahm (+1000), the 2023 Masters champion and one of this year’s favorites, had another strong showing in the Green Jacket, but ultimately fell just short. Rahm has historically played his best golf at Augusta, finishing in the top 10 five times since 2018. He already has one professional win this season and hasn’t finished lower than fifth in any event this year, so the model expects him to contend at Augusta, giving him a 10.5% chance of winning it all and a 41.3% chance of finishing in the top five.

The model also locks in predictions for odds-on betting favorite and two-time Masters winner Scheffler (+500). Scheffler continues to compete at Augusta National, posting two wins, one fourth place and a 10th place finish in the past four years.

He was able to achieve such impressive results thanks to his excellent ball-striking ability. The world No. 1-ranked player currently ranks ninth in regulation percentage on the green (71.30%) and 11th in strokes gained off the tee (0.623). He was also very effective with his putter this season, entering the 2026 Masters ranked second in putts average (1.662) and ninth in putts per round (27.67).

The model also examined McIlroy’s chances (+1300) of becoming the fourth golfer to win back-to-back green jackets. McIlroy established himself as one of golf’s greats with his 2025 Masters victory. He became the sixth player to win a career Grand Slam since defeating Justin Rose in last year’s playoffs.

McIlroy played in four tournaments on the PGA Tour in 2026, finishing T-14 or worse in three of them. But the 36-year-old still has a shot at becoming the first player since Tiger Woods in 2001-02 to win back-to-back Masters titles. McIlroy entered the 2026 Masters ranked first in strokes gained off the tee (0.799), 10th in approaches to greens (0.748) and 11th in regulation percentage on greens (71.03%). He has struggled on the greens this season, ranking 102nd in putts per round (28.86) and 136th in one-putt percentage (38.49%). See the full Masters predictions from the model here.

How to make a 2026 Masters nomination

This model also targets two longshots of +4000 and above. One of them is around +8000 and could do wonders at Augusta this year. Model pickups can only be seen here.
