AUGUSTA, Ga. — Robert McIntyre is in the spotlight for his behavior during the first round of the Masters.

On Thursday, on the 15th hole, McIntyre hit his second shot into the water protecting the front of the green. He started hitting his next shot into the water, hitting the green, and by the time he was done he had a quadruple-bogey 9.

After the first shot went into the water, McIntyre held up his middle finger. It was prohibited at Augusta National. Two holes later, he slammed the club into the ground. In the end, he finished the round at 8 over and was in danger of failing to qualify.

The 29-year-old Scot is known for his fiery temper. He broke his putter during a round earlier this year.

He is also one of the best golfers in the world, currently ranked 8th. However, such behavior is frowned upon at Augusta National, and there is speculation that he may face disciplinary action from the Green Jackets.

McIntyre will tee off at 10:19 a.m.
