Mohamed Salah has penned a touching tribute to his long-time teammate Andy Robertson after it was officially announced that the Scottish defender will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the 2025-26 season.

The announcement comes just weeks after Salah revealed his plans to leave Anfield this summer, marking a definitive end to the most successful era in the club’s modern history.

Robertson, 32, will end his nine-year stay on Merseyside as a free agent having won every major trophy available under the Anfield lights.

Salah took to social media to share a series of images capturing the celebrations they have shared over the years.

The Egyptian forward, who had a special friendship with the Scot, did not hide his emotions.

“Seeing these photos that show the bond we shared made me feel okay without saying a word about you leaving. It was an honor to be your teammate and friend. You won everything and leave as legends. I’m sure we’ll meet again.”

Robertson praised the journey they had been through together, replying, “It’s been a hell of a journey, my friend.”

Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker remain the final pillars of the 2019 Champions League winners, with both icons set to leave the club in June, but uncertainty also swirls over the captain’s long-term future.

Robertson, who has struggled for consistent minutes behind Milos Kerkes this season, admitted in his farewell statement that it was time to move on.

Salah’s next transfer destination remains the subject of global speculation, but a move to Tottenham seems likely as a condition of avoiding relegation.

As Liverpool enter the final seven games of a difficult season, the farewell period for two of the greatest players in history begins this weekend against Fulham, with Anfield fans expected to give the departing legends a warm welcome.
