The Los Angeles have called up right-handed pitcher Bobby Miller from Triple-A following their 7-5 victory over the New York Mets on Friday night. The team used eight pitchers during the game and currently has 14 pitchers on the injured list.

Miller was originally slated to start for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday but will instead join the in New York to provide relief for the bullpen, which has been heavily taxed recently. This season with Oklahoma City, Miller has a 1-1 record, a 4.63 ERA, 31 strikeouts, and a 1.49 WHIP over 35 innings. Although Miller made one start for the earlier this year and struggled, giving up six runs in three innings, the team is counting on him to bolster their pitching staff against the Mets.

Mookie Betts also mentioned how the clubhouse feels different without Chris Taylor and Austin Barnes, highlighting the impact of the team’s current lineup changes.

Fan Take: Bringing up Bobby Miller shows the ’ determination to manage their stretched bullpen and keep their pitching competitive amidst injuries. For fans, this move highlights the importance of depth in a team’s roster and how young talent can shape the course of a season in Major League Baseball.
