Liverpool striker Hugo Ekitike suffered a serious Achilles tendon injury in last night’s UEFA Champions League match against PSG.
The France international could be sidelined for nine to 12 months. They are currently looking to bring in two quality attackers at the end of the season. TEAMtalk reports that they are interested in signing Newcastle United attacker Anthony Gordon.
The former Everton star has performed very well for Newcastle this season and could be a great signing for Liverpool. He is a dynamic attacker who can play not only at center forward but also on the wings. He will add goals and creativity to the team. He is firmly established in the Premier League and could make an immediate impact at Liverpool. Furthermore, he is a lifelong Liverpool fan, which could give Liverpool an advantage in the transfer race.
It remains to be seen whether Newcastle are prepared to allow him to leave. They are currently struggling offensively, and selling their best offensive player would be a huge blow.
Gordon is Contributed 22 goals To Newcastle this season.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are also fans of Iliman Ndiaye. The Senegal international has been outstanding for Everton and it remains to be seen whether the Toffees are willing to sell him to their rivals. India is Contributed 9 goals In the league.
The paper also claims Jarrod Bowen, Harry Wilson and Bazmana Toure are also on Liverpool’s radar. They need to replace Mohamed Salah at the end of the season and signing a quality winger should be a priority for them. They are yet to find a replacement for Luis Diaz, who left the club at the beginning of the season. Investing in two quality wide players would be ideal.
Gordon and Ndiaye are essential players for their respective clubs and will likely cost a lot of money to acquire.
