Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is reportedly open to making a surprise return to Old Trafford this summer.

The England international is currently on loan at Barcelona this season, but it remains to be seen whether his move to Barcelona will become permanent.

As we recently reported, Barça are currently unsure of signing Rashford despite having the option to sign him permanently.

According to BBC Sport, Rashford is open to returning to Man United if he misses out on staying at Camp Nou.

Can Marcus Rashford still have a role at Manchester United?

For some time now it has seemed unlikely that Rashford will have any kind of future at United, but perhaps he still has a way back.

The 28-year-old was once a key player for the Red Devils, but was loaned to Aston Villa last season and suffered a significant drop in form before being loaned out to Barcelona this season.

Rashford is also one of United’s highest-paid players, so it makes little sense for the team to bring him back unless he is ready to perform consistently as a regular starter again.

Rashford is a great player these days, but he’s not getting any younger and it seems like perhaps his best days are behind him.

A move to Barcelona also looks good for him, as he has benefited from a bit of a change of scenery after spending so much time in Manchester.

Sky Sports recently reported that Rashford is likely to be one of the players available for signing this summer, and that even if he does return to MUFC, it probably won’t be for very long and other suitors are certainly likely to emerge.
