Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Campos reportedly held a surprise meeting with Arsenal striker Gabriel Martinelli’s agent.
The Brazil international has had inconsistent performances for the Gunners, but showed plenty of potential when he first broke out as a young player at the Emirates Stadium.

Still, it may come as a bit of a surprise that PSG are paying attention to Martinelli, as quoted and translated by Get French Football News from L’Equipe.
The report also suggests that PSG have held talks over RB Leipzig star Yann Diomande, who would perhaps make more sense for the position as the Ligue 1 giants’ priority target.
It could make sense for PSG to keep Martinelli in mind as a replacement. Especially since the 24-year-old Martinelli could very well perform better in a slightly less competitive league with a more attack-oriented team.
Should Arsenal let Gabriel Martinelli go?
Arsenal will definitely need to offload Martinelli this summer if the money is right. This is because they can perform better on the left side of the attack.
Having scored just one goal in the Premier League all season (though he has fared better in the Champions League, Martinelli seems to have really regressed, meaning Mikel Arteta’s side are not performing well enough in the final third).
Of course, other teams have underperformed as well, but bringing a truly elite forward to that team could help the rest of the offense improve their game.
Will PSG really sign Martinelli?
Martinelli seems like a bit of a gamble for PSG, especially since he won’t be that cheap.

PSG already has Juvica Kvaratschelia, Desiree Douye and Bradley Barcola as options on the left, all of whom look much better than Martinelli.
In short, this rumor doesn’t make any sense at all, but it’s probably a noteworthy rumor since it comes from a reliable source.
Clubs will be looking at a number of players and will have Plan B, Plan C and even Plan D goals behind their preferred options.
