2025 British Motogupread flagged and both Marquez brothers fell

Silverstone’s 2025 UK MotoGP was red flagged on lap 2 for oil on the track.

The dramatic start of the Grand Prix led Alex Marquez to crash out of the lead in turn 1, and Alex Espargaro and Franco Morbidelli joined Gresini Ryder to the ground.

Later, when the TV cameras returned to race leader Mark Marquez, the factory Ducati riders slid down the fast Maggott and Becketts complex.

The oil was in Vere Cicane in the aftermath of the Morbidelli/Espargaro incident and therefore was not a factor in the accident of the Marquez brothers who returned to the pit for a reboot.

“As the three race laps have not been completed, all riders will be eligible for re-opening,” the race direction was confirmed.
