Manchester United are currently leading the race to sign Eduardo Camavinga from Real Madrid, valuing the midfielder at just £52m ahead of this summer.

Manchester United lead race to sign Camavinga

It’s no secret that Man United’s priority this summer is to strengthen their midfield. The Red Devils’ problems in that area were exposed last Monday against Leeds United as Manuel Ugarte failed to reproduce the quality of Coby Mainu. As a result of one injury, Michael Carrick’s side have fallen significantly down the table.

INEOS is certainly well aware of this issue and has already put a number of names on its shortlist ahead of the summer. That includes Elliott Anderson and Sandro Tonali. Both are big-money options and both will be statement signings at Old Trafford.

No player in Europe’s top five leagues has won more possession back this season than Elliott Anderson (267).

Signing Anderson and Tonali would largely mirror last summer’s transfer tactic, in which Man United bosses shopped locally rather than bringing players to the Premier League for the first time.

The Red Devils, who have been repeatedly hurt by unproven stars, appear to be prioritizing players who can be immediately effective at Old Trafford.

That likely means competition for these transfers will intensify, and while United managed to beat rivals in Matheus Cunha and Brian Mbeumo last season, it could be a different case if they go after Anderson and Tonali.

Manchester City are definitely the ones to keep an eye on when it comes to Andersson, with the Citizens potentially forcing INEOS to select an alternative option in the Real Madrid star.

Manchester United have identified a new transfer target ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to Caught Offside, Manchester United are in the lead along with Arsenal in the race to sign Camavinga, and Real Madrid could make a move for the Frenchman, who is valued at €60 (approximately 5.2 billion yen).

Both the player and the club are willing to sell him, with a move to the Premier League expected this summer.

At £52 million, Camavinga could quickly become a bargain.

There was a time when £52m was a bit too much for any play. Those days are long gone. For the Real Madrid midfielder and full France international, this is an undeniable deal that Man United should make the most of this summer.

Camavinga’s future at the club has never been more in doubt after he picked up an unnecessary second yellow card just over 20 minutes after playing against Bayern Munich in midweek, which cost Madrid a Champions League exit. But their trash could soon become Man United’s treasure.

Camavinga has been described as “extraordinary” by manager Carlo Ancelotti and would be an upgrade over Ugarte in every department.

Madrid appear open to parting ways with the 23-year-old, giving Old Trafford officials the chance to sign a player who has already impressed on the biggest stage, as well as a player with even greater potential.

It would be a no-brainer for INEOS if Man City were to win the deal for Anderson’s signature this summer.
