  • Liverpool have long-standing interest in Jarrod Bowen
    • Our take: Why Bowen’s age makes a transfer less likely

Liverpool are considering signing West Ham star Jarrod Bowen, according to an exclusive update from journalist DaveOCKOP.

The Reds are reportedly shortlisting attacking targets ahead of the summer season, and Bowen has once again emerged as a candidate.

With Mohamed Salah’s departure looming at the end of the season, Liverpool’s reinforcements are looking for a winger to help fill the void left by the Egyptian King’s departure.

West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen is among the players rumored to be on the move.

Liverpool have long-standing interest in Jarrod Bowen

According to journalist DaveOCKop, he is still admired by Liverpool’s hierarchy and it would be no surprise to see them move to sign Bowen, especially if the Hammers are relegated.

EXCL: Liverpool are considering a summer move for Jarrod Bowen. The West Ham player is admired by Liverpool and has been linked with in the past. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Liverpool make a move, especially if West Ham are relegated.

This is not the first time an England international has been linked with a move to Merseyside.

Liverpool’s interest in Bowen goes back several years, and he famously received public support from former manager Jurgen Klopp, who once described him as “incredible”.

The 29-year-old has been a rare bright spot for West Ham during a tumultuous campaign. Despite the Hammers struggling near the bottom of the table, Bowen has maintained a high standard, contributing eight goals and eight assists in 32 Premier League appearances this season.

His tactical intelligence, work rate and ability to play across the front line make him a perfect fit for the high-intensity style that Liverpool continue to adopt.

Despite the close relationship, a potential deal would represent a significant departure from FSG’s traditional transfer policy. Liverpool typically prioritize players under the age of 26 to ensure long-term resale value.

Our take: Why Bowen’s age makes a transfer less likely

Bowen, 29, is nearing the twilight of his prime and currently has a huge seven-year contract with the London Stadium until 2030.

However, if West Ham fail to avoid a fall, their financial situation could change dramatically.

The Hammers are currently locked in a tense relegation battle, sitting just two points above the relegation zone.

West Ham’s negotiating power would be hit hard if they were relegated, meaning Liverpool could sign Bowen at a ‘bargain’ price.

Unless such a discount is available and the player is willing to soften his wage demands, the Anfield giants could look to a younger replacement to fill the void left by Salah.

It has already been reported that Liverpool’s owners have given the green light to sign Yann Diomande, with the Reds identifying him as the ideal candidate to replace Salah.
