  • Chelsea to appoint German manager to replace Rosenior

Chelsea’s nightmare 2025/26 season has officially hit a new historic low.

After a disastrous run of five consecutive Premier League defeats without a goal, and an incredible drought not seen at Stamford Bridge since 1912, Liam Rosenior’s experiment appears to have come to a complete standstill.

The club’s bosses are already secretly planning their next big move, with the highly regarded German tactician now sitting firmly at the top of the manager’s wish list.

Chelsea to appoint German manager to replace Rosenior

According to TEAMtalk, German manager Julian Nagelsmann is being considered as Chelsea’s next manager.

Such bold writing has been on Rosenior’s wall since his team’s recent humiliating defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Instead of rallying or defending his team, the manager publicly questioned the overall motivation of his players, effectively letting the world know that he had completely lost the dressing room.

There are reports that the players are unhappy with the manager behind the scenes, and the defeat against Brighton appears to be the final nail in the coffin.

Bruco’s ownership group initially wanted to be patient and support him, but this historic and embarrassing collapse made his position completely untenable.

Current Germany national team manager Nagelsmann remains highly regarded by Chelsea’s key decision-makers and was previously incredibly close to returning to the job in 2023.

Rosenior’s achievements as Chelsea manager

The Blues need a more experienced manager to lead the club.

Unlike Rosenior, who came without a first-class elite pedigree, Nagelsmann represents a proven tactical winner.

He won the Bundesliga title with Bayern Munich and previously managed impressive and successful stints at RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim.

For a heavily spent Chelsea squad that lacks any confidence or clear tactical identity, bringing in a demanding, elite-level manager like Nagelsmann feels like a significant upgrade.

Chelsea’s current set-up is a complete failure and they are finally ready to rely on the German giants.

Nagelsmann is currently preparing to take Germany to the World Cup, so the Blues may have to wait until the end of the tournament to make a move.
