Igor Thiago has been in great form since joining Brentford, attracting interest from Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

TEAMtalk reports that the Brazilian striker could leave at the end of the season, with Brentford already considering a replacement. They identified Matvi Ponomarenko as a summer target. It remains to be seen whether the club will be prepared to let Thiago leave in the summer.

Thiago has also been linked with a move to Manchester United.

Chelsea could use Igor Thiago

The South American has scored 24 goals in 35 appearances this season and has been linked with a move to Newcastle or Manchester City.

It’s no secret that Chelsea need to sign a quality striker. Liam Delap has scored just twice this season and they need to find an upgrade for the former Ipswich Town striker. Thiago could be a quality signing and could form a solid partnership with compatriot Joao Pedro at the London club.

Can Spurs sign Thiago?

Meanwhile, Tottenham need more quality in attack. Dominic Solanke is not playing well and needs more support in attack. Thiago is well established in the Premier League and could make an immediate impact. But if Tottenham want to sign the player, they need to secure a top-class safety. The Brazilian will not want to compete in the second tier of English football.

The striker is on a long-term contract with Brentford, who are likely to demand a hefty transfer fee. It remains to be seen whether Chelsea and Tottenham are prepared to pay him a high fee. A quality striker could change them in attack and Thiago could certainly have an immediate impact on them.
