  • Rafael Leao transfer talk is heating up
  • Rafael Leao could strengthen United and Liverpool

Manchester United and Liverpool are reportedly among the clubs considering a potential move for AC Milan striker Rafael Leao this summer.

The Portugal international has had another strong season at the San Siro, scoring nine goals and providing three assists in total, and it looks like he could be on the move in the near future.

The Daily Mail claim that Milan could sell Leo for just £60m, with Man United and Liverpool considering the opportunity, with the market seeing this as a potential bargain.

Leo was recently linked to Arsenal in a report by Football Transfers, and it is safe to assume that clubs around the world will be wary of his situation.

Rafael Leao transfer talk is heating up

Leo is an important player for Milan and they want to make sure they keep him, but with two years left on his contract his value could start to decline quickly.

Fabrizio Romano recently quoted Rossoneri manager Igri Tare as downplaying talk of the 26-year-old’s departure, but perhaps things have changed now…see below.

If Leo does not sign a new contract, this summer could be Milan’s last chance to make a hefty profit by letting him go.

Leo also appears to have injury problems, which is another factor the Serie A giants will have to consider in the coming months. No matter how good a player is, there’s little point in keeping someone around if they can’t play frequently.

Rafael Leao could strengthen United and Liverpool

At the time, Leo was a great attacking talent who could play wide or up front, and it’s easy to imagine him making a huge impact at clubs like United and Liverpool.

The former Lille player could be ideal to help LFC replace Mohamed Salah, who leaves this summer, and would be cheaper than other options.

Leo could also do a better job than Matheus Cunha at MUFC, adding even more options to the team’s attack with Marcus Rashford set to leave the club permanently after spending this season and last season on loan.
