Liverpool are said to be likely to beat Bayern Munich this summer after signing Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon.

According to Christian Falk in his latest CF Bayern Insider exclusive column, Gordon’s transfer fee is likely to be around £65 million, which would be too high for Bayern.

German football experts have confirmed that Gordon is on Bayern’s list and could be tempted by a move, possibly due to the influence of his England teammate Harry Kane, but it may depend on the amount.

Bayern do not appear to be in urgent need of signing another attacking player, but Gordon is in good form and an opportunity for a reasonable fee could make him attractive.

But for now, Liverpool are thought to be in a financially advantageous position in this deal, while Faulk also pointed out that the 25-year-old has an affinity for the Reds as he comes from a family of LFC supporters.

“It’s true. Anthony Gordon is highly rated on Bayern’s shortlist,” Faulk said. “We’re going to talk about money, so it’s very specific!”

“Gordon has hinted that he could move to the Bundesliga, so I think this is probably partly Harry Kane’s doing. Normally, England players rarely come to the German top flight.”

“Having said that, the transfer fee that Newcastle ultimately demand for the winger could damage Bayern’s hopes of signing Anthony Gordon. The fee was €80m (£69.3m). The Times now suggests it is actually closer to €75m (£65m). I think this is too expensive for Bayern Munich.

“Of course, there is always the possibility that if Anthony Gordon insists on a move to Bayern and Bayern only, perhaps Newcastle will be prompted to lower their offer. As things stand, Bayern Munich have Luis Dias, Harry Kane, They are in a good position with Michael Oliseh and Jamal Musiala behind him. Gordon can play in all these positions but would be another option, so it would be difficult for FC to spend a lot of money. ”

He added:It is true that Gordon’s previous relationship and affinity with Liverpool Football Club could pose a problem for Bayern Munich.

Liverpool are still one of the top clubs in Europe and have plenty of money to spend. In contrast, Bayern does not want to spend as much money this summer. If an agreement cannot be reached with Newcastle and Liverpool have more money to spend than Bayern Munich, then it is understandable why the Magpies would argue that Gordon should not be sold cheaply to Munich when they could get more money from Liverpool. This can be a problem. ”

Liverpool need Anthony Gordon more than Bayern

Liverpool clearly have major attacking problems at the moment, so a move to Anfield seems to make more sense for everyone involved.

Of course, Newcastle will be completely reluctant to sell the England international, especially after having to ultimately move star Alexander Isak to Anfield last year.

Still, it looks like Gordon could be a key addition to Arne Slott’s side, replacing Mohamed Salah in the front three, as well as providing an upgrade to other unconvincing attacking players such as Florian Wirtz and Kodi Gakpo.

Gordon will likely play more often at Bayern than at Bayern, where there is more quality competition for a spot in the starting XI.
