Joao Parinha’s 82nd-minute tap-in gave Tottenham a 1-0 win over Wolves, their first Premier League win of 2026, but they remain in the relegation zone.
Spurs looked set for a difficult afternoon against Molineux with Dominic Solanke and Xavi Simmons sent off with injuries, but Roberto de Zerbi watched on as a scraped Parinha slipped in at the back post.
Richarlison hit the shot and it was their first win in 16 league games.
Tottenham briefly moved out of the bottom three, but West Ham’s late win meant they now have a two-point lead with four games remaining.
Wolves’ relegation was confirmed on Monday night, and the Spurs side, who do not want to join Wolves, started well, but a slight push from Hugo Bueno saw Solanke wave off a half-hearted penalty appeal and send him off.
Randall Kolo Muani, who was once again favored by coach De Zerbi despite scoring one league goal all season, fired a shot wide of the target in the 12th minute following a mistake from Andre.
Moments later, Pedro Polo’s surprising shot halted Tottenham’s momentum, and Wolves fired up the Molineux crowd with two corner kicks in quick succession.
Moments later, Solanke blocked a volley from Rodrigo Gomez, and the visitors came back to life, with Xavi Simons firing a shot wide of the target after some good work from Rodrigo Bentancur.
But the north London club’s injury curse struck again with eight minutes left in a drab first half when Solanke collapsed, clutching the back of his left leg.
Solanke was sent off and it looked like Yves Bissouma might suffer the same fate after being caught in a strong tackle by Andre, but they were able to start the second half.

The same could not be said for Kolo Muani, who was hooked by De Zerbi and the Italian should have seen Spurs take the lead in the 51st minute.
Polo played well wide, with Xavi cutting inside, but Matt Doherty was well enough to return the ball for the Tottenham attacker to chase from eight yards.
Minutes later, Xavi was the next away player after sustaining an injury in a collision with Hugo Bueno at Molineux.
Xavi immediately fell to the floor and although he got back up, he collapsed as he made his way down the touchline off the pitch, later requiring a stretcher.
West Ham’s first home win over Everton meant Spurs were four points from safety and Antonin Kinski had to be careful not to beat Adam Armstrong on a loose ball.
Tell’s snap shot went wide and Rodrigo Bentancur fired from Polo’s corner, but Jose Sa made a flying save with 21 minutes remaining.
Wolves then had a breakthrough in the 82nd minute with a header from Armstrong as Tottenham’s away supporters tried to rally their team.
Tell chased down a lost cause and won a corner kick, with Polo’s shot falling to Richarlison. Richarlison watched as his scuffed shot was deflected back to Palinha at the back post.
Parinha lunged at the Spurs fans and soon the news broke that Everton had equalized at West Ham.
Tottenham were temporarily knocked out of the bottom three, but celebrations from Wolves fans sealed a late victory at the London Stadium, with De Zerbi converting Joao Gomez’s free-kick into stoppage time with a fine one-handed save from Kinski to earn them the much-needed three points.

“He did everything he was supposed to do and made a last-gasp flying save to keep the three points.”
The 23-year-old had a halt to the start of his career at Tottenham, but is now irreplaceable due to Guglielmo Vicario’s injury, and could be a big part of establishing himself.
Spurs travel to Aston Villa next weekend, while West Ham travel to Brentford.
