Manchester United are heavily linked with a move for Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleva at the end of this season.

The 22-year-old has had a great run with the Seagulls and Manchester United have been monitoring him for quite some time. According to Fabrizio Romano, they have verbally agreed a summer transfer with the player and he is keen to join the Old Trafford squad.

“Bareva remains a target for both the scouting department and people within the club,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.

“There are still a number of factors to consider, including the appointment of a permanent manager, budget decisions and Brighton’s stance.

“What I can confirm, however, is that the verbal agreement between Baleva and Manchester United from 2025 remains valid into 2026.

“The player is still very keen to move to Manchester United.”

It’s no secret that Manchester United need more quality in the middle of the park. Valeba has the ability to contribute defensively and push the team forward. He could form a solid partnership with Koby Mainu.

Baleva has consistently shown his quality in the Premier League and is ready for the next step in his career. Joining one of the biggest clubs in the country would be ideal for him. Manchester United could develop him into a star. He will also play in the UEFA Champions League with them.

The fact that Manchester United have already agreed terms for the player will be a huge boost for the club. It will be interesting to see if they can negotiate a contract with his club now. They are likely to command a premium and Manchester United will have to pay big for him.
