  • Reece James and Callum McFarlane share a great moment
  • Callum MacFarlane becomes the first English manager to reach the FA Cup final since Frank Lampard

Chelsea fans were treated to heartwarming scenes after their side booked their place in the FA Cup final with a 1-0 win over Leeds United at Wembley.

At the center of the celebrations was club captain Reece James, whose gesture towards caretaker manager Callum McFarlane quickly went viral among the Blues faithful.

During the post-victory celebrations, James was seen physically pushing a reluctant MacFarlane towards moving Chelsea supporters.

The captain’s intentions were clear. They wanted the 40-year-old coach to be in the spotlight and absorb the love of the fans.

Despite not being in the match-day squad as he continues his rehabilitation, James was immediately on the pitch at full-time and led the celebrations.

An exchange between the captain and coach reported by. Ben Jacobsperfectly illustrated the new spirit of the Chelsea camp.

Mr Macfarlane, who was appointed following the sacking of Liam Rosenior earlier this week, quickly succeeded in stabilizing the situation.

In the post-game press conference, the interim manager admitted that the hectic nature of his return to the dugout was putting a strain on him.

“It’s been intense being in charge again, but it hasn’t been as crazy as last time. Being part of Liam’s staff and knowing the team so well has made a big difference. The players deserve all the credit for their response.”

Callum MacFarlane becomes the first English manager to reach the FA Cup final since Frank Lampard

This victory is not only an exciting win for the club, but also a historic personal milestone for McFarlane.

Having booked a date with Manchester City on May 16, he becomes the first English manager to reach the FA Cup final since Frank Lampard did it with Chelsea in 2020.

This is an amazing feat for a man with only a few games of experience as a senior manager.

McFarlane’s tactical set-up was successful in nullifying an on-the-moment Leeds team, ensuring that Enzo Fernandes’ first-half goal was enough to seal the result.

With the final just around the corner, James’ public support suggests that while MacFarlane may only be an interim player, he commands the full respect of the Chelsea dressing room.
