Nelly Korda won the 2026 Chevron Championship on Sunday with a performance worthy of her return to the No. 1 ranking in women’s golf. Entering the final round with a five-shot lead, she played efficiently and effectively, only trailing by four strokes into the afternoon at Memorial Park.

Korda closed out the tournament with a 2-under 70, winning by five strokes and earning his third career major victory.

The win is her 17th on the LPGA Tour and 21st in the world. This puts the 27-year-old American star back at the top of the women’s world rankings for the first time since August 2025.

Not only did Korda win wire-to-wire, he also ensured that the Chevron Championship wasn’t really a contest. After hitting a 5-iron to 5 feet for birdie on the 16th hole of Thursday’s opening round, Korda never relinquished the lead.

In doing so, she joins Nabisco Dinah Shore’s Juli Inkster (1989) and Amy Alcott (1991) as the only players in the past 50 years to win an LPGA major by a multiple-shot margin after each round.

Korda may have just started another great season. She was in the final group in each of the five tournaments she competed in this year, winning the season opener and first major, and finishing runner-up in three others.

Korda previously won her second career major at the Chevron Championship in 2024, following her win at the 2021 Women’s PGA Championship. Although she swept the major LPGA awards in 2024, she went winless in 2025 and opened the 2026 season with a win at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions.
