Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided a major update on Alisson Becker’s future, revealing that Italian giants Juventus are making a “serious approach” to sign the Liverpool goalkeeper this summer.

The tug of war between a fresh start in Serie A and continued loyalty to the Premier League has officially begun, as the Brazilian’s time at Anfield could be coming to an end.

According to Romano, Juventus are prepared to offer the 33-year-old a significant long-term package, possibly consisting of a two-year deal with an option for a third year, or a three-year contract in a row.

Romano: Alisson Becker wants to move to Juventus but will respect Liverpool’s decision

Alisson is reportedly very tempted to move to Turin. The main factor is the presence of current Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti, who coached Alisson during his breakout period at AS Roma.

However, journalists were quick to highlight that Alisson’s deep love for Liverpool remains an obstacle to an early exit.

Alisson is adamant not to force a move after the club recently activated an option to extend his contract until 2027.

The final decision rests with the Liverpool board, who must weigh the potential transfer fee against the loss of a sporting icon.

Romano said in his latest YouTube video.

“Juventus have already made a serious approach to Alisson and his camp about the possibility of a long-term contract. By long-term I don’t mean five years, but my understanding is that Juventus would be prepared to offer a two-year plus one-year contract. They will be willing to discuss two years plus one as an option or, ultimately, a three-year deal with Alisson.”

So, while these two options are being discussed, it is a significant contract for Alisson, and it is a long-term deal. At the same time, Liverpool activated an option to extend his current contract at Anfield until 2027 a few weeks ago.

So, on the other hand, Alisson has a contract with Liverpool for one more year. Meanwhile, Juventus are willing to offer the Brazilian goalkeeper two years plus one or three years at the club.

My understanding is that Alisson will be tempted by the possibility of returning to Italy and starting a new chapter after his impressive run in Roma a few years ago under the same coach Lucios Paletti, who is now at Juventus.

Alison will therefore be tempted by this possibility. But he has no desire to leave Liverpool on a bad note. He wants to respect Liverpool. Alisson loves Liverpool and won’t leave on bad terms.

That is the intention of the Brazilian goalkeeper. It is therefore up to Liverpool to have some communication with Alisson between now and the end of the season and decide if they want to keep him, if they want to sell him, the door is open and what are the terms on which Juventus will ultimately pay Liverpool.

A few things need to be made clear to understand Alisson’s future, but for now it’s up to Liverpool.

Liverpool extended his contract because they believe in Alisson and have already lost two important leaders in Mo Salah and Robertson.

So losing Alisson too in the same summer would be tough and that would be a point discussed internally to make a decision. ”

Why selling Alisson Becker would be a mistake

Despite the temptation to cash in on an aging asset, selling Alisson this summer could be a big mistake for the Reds.

Historically, elite goalkeepers often reach their absolute peak in their mid-to-late 30s, as seen with legends like Gianluigi Buffon and Manuel Neuer, and Alisson likely still has several years of world-class performance left in him.

Beyond his shot-stopping, his presence is a fundamental element of the club’s DNA.

Liverpool are already preparing for the departures of Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson, so losing the third pillar of the Klopp-era leadership group in one go would be a huge blow to the team’s mental and tactical stability.

Replacing Alisson’s deployment and one-on-one advantage will be an almost impossible task, and his departure could leave a hole that no amount of transfer profit can fill.
