Liverpool consider risky €80m bet on struggling La Liga star

Liverpool are rumored to be interested in signing La Liga attacker Nico Williams.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months and it will be interesting to see if Liverpool make an offer to sign him.

According to reports from Spain, signing the player could cost around 80 million euros. Reports suggest that Liverpool are open to the investment, which would be quite surprising.

Although more quality is needed in the side, Williams has not been at his best this season and paying him €80 million would be a mistake. He has scored just once in his past 18 games. He has struggled to feature regularly for Athletic Club Bilbao in recent weeks.

There is no doubt that he is a talented player with a promising future, but Liverpool will be hoping to sign him for a more reasonable fee. Williams has only four goals and six assists in 30 games this season.

It remains to be seen how the situation will develop. Liverpool are eyeing several wide players. They are associated with Yann Diomande, Eze Abde and Francisco Conceição.

Kodi Gakpo will also need to be upgraded, replacing Mohamed Salah in the summer. It’s no surprise that they’re keeping an eye on Williams. He has the potential to succeed in the Premier League but needs to get his form and confidence back.

The Spanish club would need to make reasonable demands to make the transfer happen.

It has been a disappointing season so far for Liverpool and they will be hoping to fill holes in their squad in the summer transfer window so they can compete with Arsenal and Manchester City next season. Improving the quality of their side should be one of their priorities.
