Liverpool star hits back at Arne Slott with latest joke during interview

Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah had a public falling out with manager Arne Slott earlier this season.

The Egyptian player was dropped from the starting lineup due to a decline in form, during which time he decided to publicly criticize his manager. Differences between the two sides have since been resolved, with Salah reportedly joining the starting XI.

However, it seems that the player is still not satisfied with the coach’s treatment and philosophy this season. During an interview with former Liverpool star Steven Gerrard, the Egyptian again criticized the manager darkly.

Discussing his assist numbers for Liverpool, Gerrard said Salah has more assists than him because he had to play as a right-back for Liverpool at times in the past. In response to the former Liverpool captain, the Egyptian joked that he had to use him as a right-back this season.

Slott has been heavily criticized for his conservative approach this season, with some claiming it is one of the main reasons why Salah hasn’t hit his stride. The Egyptian played in a much more forward position last year and had more attacking rights. On the other hand, his freedom has been restricted this season and he appears to be held back by the Liverpool manager’s more conservative approach.

His comments in the interview with Gerrard are clearly another attack on the Dutch manager.

Salah decided to leave the club in the summer and has been of special service to Liverpool over the years. Fans were definitely expecting him to do well. But his falling out with Slott will surely remain a stain on his final season with the Reds.
