The long-awaited summer clearance at Old Trafford has officially begun, and it looks like cameras are already rolling at the first departure.

While Manchester United fans frantically updated their timelines for news on big midfield players and defensive reinforcements, the first player to pack his bags sat quietly on the bench all season.

According to a surprising report in The Sun, reserve goalkeeper Altai Bayndil is currently filming an official farewell video ahead of his guaranteed departure in the summer.

Manchester United goalkeeper wants more playing time

You only have to look at his incredibly frustrating and isolated stint in Manchester to understand exactly why the Turkish international is sprinting towards the exit.

Báindil, who came from Fenerbahçe with a very respectable pedigree, was touted as the perfect and competitive replacement for new number one Andre Onana. However, the reality of his stay in England was deeply disappointing.

Even when Onana played in the Africa Cup of Nations midway through the season, or even when the Cameroonian shot-stopper suffered a much-publicized poor run early in the season, the coaching staff stubbornly refused to rotate the team.

Bindir has completely lacked meaningful playing time in the Premier League, effectively making him a very expensive spectator.

For the 28-year-old goalkeeper, who is in the prime of his career, staying in the shadows is not an option if he wants to maintain his place in the national team.

From the club’s point of view it makes perfect and ruthless sense to cancel this experiment.

Red Devils expected to make big changes

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the INEOS sports organization are currently carrying out a major and ruthless audit of the team.

They are aggressively cutting personnel costs and trying to get rid of peripheral players who are not actively contributing to their starting eleven.

Acquiring Bindir would not only free up valuable funds for the team, but it could also streamline a squad that has felt significantly bloated over the years.

This allows recruiting teams to promote an academy prospect to the No. 2 spot, or tap into the market for a cheaper homegrown veteran to fill a needed squad spot.

At the end of the day, this impending transfer is the absolute best-case scenario for everyone involved.
