The Newcastle United attacker has been in the news recently as he has been consistently linked with a move away from St James’ Park in media speculation.
According to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, the German side have made a concrete offer for Newcastle winger Gordon.
The Bavarian giants made a serious statement of intent by putting a huge five-year contract on the table.
Bayern Munich approaches to sign Gordon
Several top clubs are eyeing the 25-year-old, but Bayern’s serious approach appears to have pushed them to the front of the queue.
It’s incredibly easy to understand why Bayern are so desperate to secure Gordon’s signature.
The winger has enjoyed an incredible individual campaign, most notably in the Champions League, where he scored an astonishing 10 goals in 12 appearances.
The form of the European elite completely convinced Bayern coach Vincent Kompany to approve the move.
But Bayern are not the only club to be impressed with the England international.
Both Arsenal and Liverpool are keeping a close eye on the England international and could soon join the race to sign the former Everton man.
Barcelona have also shown great interest, with sporting director Deco recently meeting with Gordon’s agent.
Newcastle United ready to demand a premium
The player appears to be progressing well at Bayern Munich, but the final hurdle remains an agreement with Newcastle United.
With Gordon firmly locked into his contract until 2030, there is little pressure on the Magpies to sell. As a result, Premier League teams are reportedly willing to pay a hefty transfer fee of around £77 million.
Gordon himself has not publicly called for his departure, but the desire to continue competing for a regular place in major competitions and the Champions League is a big draw for the attacker.
If Bayern can find a way to live up to Newcastle’s high praise, both Arsenal and Liverpool will lose the race to sign the attacker before they are even in the race properly.
Bayern Munich are mean and will waste no time in securing Gordon’s signature.
