The PGA Tour is in its toughest time of the season. The late spring dash brings three signature events in the four weeks between the Masters and PGA Championship. This week marks the end, as the PGA Tour’s top stars return to Quail Hollow, the site of last year’s PGA Championship, for the Truist Championship.
Last year’s PGA winner at Quail Hollow, Scottie Scheffler, will be absent this week. He is taking a week off after finishing runner-up in the Cadillac Championship for the third consecutive year. The Dallas native usually skips this week to break up his schedule because he has two events scheduled right after the PGA in his favorite Texas.
Even without Scheffler, Truist boasts an impressive field, with Rory McIlroy making his first start since winning his second green jacket at the Masters. McIlroy has been developing for a long time at Quail Hollow and will be looking to reaffirm his status as a top threat after a three-week layoff.
Last week’s winner Cameron Young is also scheduled to start this week in Charlotte, as is Matt Fitzpatrick, who has won his last two races. They will be challenging for their sixth signature event title of the season, joining the likes of Xander Schauffele, Ludwig Oberg, Chris Gottelup, Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Rose.
Here’s how you can watch these stars and the rest of the field battle it out in the Queen City.
