Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon has reportedly held talks with Bayern Munich, as well as Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea.

The England international is now more likely to leave St James’ Park this summer, with Bayern already offering him a five-year contract, according to Christian Falk.

In his latest CF Bayern Insider column, Falk explained that Gordon is also wanted by Premier League clubs and Bayern may still have trouble signing him if the deal ends up being worth as much as £80 million.

This comes after Fabrizio Romano recently reported on his YouTube channel that there is a “serious possibility” that Gordon will leave Newcastle this summer.

Anthony Gordon’s transfer saga doesn’t seem to be going smoothly.

It seems difficult to predict exactly where Gordon will end up this summer, even if his future is definitely away from Newcastle.

The 25-year-old impressed during his time at the Magpies, scoring 39 goals in 152 appearances since joining from Everton.

After his downturn from Newcastle this season, it certainly makes sense for Gordon to explore a potential move to a higher level, which could mean there’s still hope at the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal.

“Anthony Gordon is at the top of the wish list, but the transfer fee remains an issue. £80m is a lot of money for Bayern Munich,” Falk said.

“A few weeks ago, I would have said that a deal of this size was not possible. I think now the view of the supervisory board is shaped by the clear need for another forward player. PSG had Bradley Barcola on the bench. Bayern did not have players of the same quality that they could demand.”

He added:The agency has made many phone calls and held many meetings across Europe. There have been talks with Chelsea, there have been contacts with Liverpool, there have been contacts with Arsenal…it’s been allowed to happen because they know Newcastle need money to keep the right side of Financial Fair Play this summer. ”

Which club needs Anthony Gordon the most?

Gordon is a top player who could certainly add something to most big clubs, and it’s no wonder Bayern are looking for a bit more depth behind their first-choice front three.

Still, the former Everton man certainly doesn’t want to sit on the bench at his next club, so he might consider looking to the likes of Arsenal or Liverpool.

The Gunners are in urgent need of improvement on the left side this season, as the performances of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard have been inconsistent.

Liverpool, on the other hand, are struggling to replicate last season’s success and certainly need someone like Gordon to upgrade Kodi Gakpo.
