Former Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Phillips says Joao Pedro is good enough for Barcelona and deserves to be allowed to leave if possible.

In a rare press conference at his former club, Wright-Phillips said he could not blame Pedro for wanting to leave the Blues under this ownership.
The Brazilian striker put in some great performances in his first season at Stamford Bridge, but ultimately it appears to have been a disappointing season for the club.
Barcelona have been linked with Pedro on ESPN Brazil as well as Chelsea’s trusted news source Simon Phillips’ Substack.
Joao Pedro, former Chelsea player supports Barcelona move
Wright-Phillips has now responded to speculation about Pedro joining Barça, backing his move citing the failures of the current CFC side.
“I think it would be great if Joan left,” Wright-Phillips told Somos Fanaticos, as quoted by the Evening Standard.
“Personally, if I were him, I would do everything to get this transfer done, given the way Chelsea has been run so far.

“It will be great for him to play alongside Rafinha and (Lamine) Yamal at the Camp Nou. He will score a lot of goals, because we saw what he did in teams that were not as good as this Chelsea team.”
“If it were me João Pedro, I want to play in The same goes for the Champions League, and I don’t think Chelsea will be able to play in any European competition. João has a level and deserves to play in the Champions League.”
João Pedro is ideal for Barcelona
With the aging Robert Lewandowski nearing the end of his contract, Barcelona could certainly make it happen by announcing a deal in advance this summer.

One imagines Chelsea will do their best not to lose Pedro after just one season, but it will no doubt be difficult if he misses out on European football.
If the opportunity is there, Barcelona should absolutely do their best to sign this great 24-year-old talent, who seems like an ideal long-term investment in an important area.
