  • Yann Diomande attracts the attention of big clubs
  • Signing the Ivorian makes sense for Liverpool

Liverpool have positive plans for the next era, with RB Leipzig winger Yann Diomande continuing to attract huge attention across Europe and could lead them to one of the Bundesliga’s most exciting young attackers.

The 19-year-old Ivorian has made rapid progress since moving to Germany, and his explosive performances have made him a highly sought-after player for clubs looking to revamp their attacking options.

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool are expected to rebuild their front line in the upcoming season, and Diomande’s name will naturally figure prominently.

He has the speed, directness, strong one-on-one ability and confidence to influence the game at a high level despite his age.

Yann Diomande attracts the attention of big clubs

Diomande joined RB Leipzig in July 2025 and is under contract with the Bundesliga club until 2030, giving Leipzig a good position in future negotiations.

His numbers help explain the excitement. FotMob credits Diomande with 12 goals and 7 assists in the 2025/26 Bundesliga, while his official Bundesliga profile lists him as a 19-year-old RB Leipzig forward with Ivorian nationality.

The fact that the teenager performed at such a level in one of Europe’s strongest leagues is precisely why his reputation has risen so quickly.

One of his standout moments came against Eintracht Frankfurt, when he scored a hat-trick in the second half as Leipzig won 6-0.

According to Reuters, Diomande completed the treble in just 18 minutes, becoming the second-youngest player to score a hat-trick in the Bundesliga. This kind of performance highlighted his ability to not only contribute with flash but also decide the game.

Signing the Ivorian makes sense for Liverpool

Diomande would be a bold but logical addition for Liverpool. The Reds have built much of their modern success around wide forwards who can stretch the defense, press with energy and churn out goals on a regular basis.

Diomande is still developing, but his profile fits the type of dynamic attacker Liverpool often admire.

Diomande has become a priority target for the Reds following Mohamed Salah’s departure from the club.

However, there are also obvious risks. A transfer fee of almost 100 million euros will put a lot of pressure on a player who is still in the early stages of his senior career.

Leipzig are also known for developing elite young talent and only selling them for the right price, meaning Liverpool will need to be decisive and financially aggressive to make a deal happen.
