Liverpool: Salah’s comments after defeat expose tension in locker room

Despite Liverpool’s recent defeat to Aston Villa in the Premier League, Mohamed Salah sent out a message on social media.

The Egyptian insists that qualification for the UEFA Champions League should be the minimum requirement for Liverpool and they need to do better. He added that Liverpool have been very inconsistent this season and winning occasionally is not enough for such a prestigious club.

The Liverpool star also referred to the style of play under Jurgen Klopp and called for the club to return to its heavy metal identity, which has instilled fear in opponents. Liverpool have been very mediocre this season, with no identity or style of play at the club at the moment. Salah’s message on social media could be interpreted as an indirect dig at manager Arne Slott.

About X he wrote:It was very painful for us to lose again this season and it was not what our fans deserved. I want Liverpool to go back to being a heavy metal attacking team that opponents fear, and a team that wins trophies. That’s football as I know it, and it’s an identity that needs to be recovered and held forever. As I have always said, qualifying for next season’s Champions League is the minimum requirement and we will do everything in our power to make that happen.”

The Dutch national team coach has been heavily criticized for his poor management this season. He also had a falling out with Salah at the beginning of the season. There are rumors that Liverpool are looking to make a change in the summer. It remains to be seen if they are ready to show him the door and bring in an upgrade.

It’s clear that Slott failed miserably this season and lost his fanbase as well. Ideally, Liverpool would make a change and bring in someone who aligns with their identity as a team and as a club.

Meanwhile, Salah has already confirmed that he will leave the club at the end of the season, and it remains to be seen how he will end up.
