Napoli are also monitoring his situation and Newcastle may need to act quickly to win the race for him. Atta can play as either a central midfielder or a right-sided winger. He has the technical attributes to open up defenses with his passing and vision. He can take on players and create chances for his teammates.
Atta has scored six goals this season and has also provided four assists.
Newcastle definitely need more creativity in their squad and the 23-year-old would be a long-term signing for them. The French youth international has the qualities to succeed in English football and the opportunity to play in the Premier League next season will be an exciting one for him.

Can Newcastle sign Atta?
It will be interesting to see if Newcastle follow up their interest with a formal offer for his signature. An investment of 40 million euros may seem expensive at the moment, but the player will be able to justify the expense in the long run. If he can adapt quickly to English football, this deal could look like a bargain.
Atta wants to quickly sort out his characteristics and focus on his football next season. Newcastle certainly have the financial wherewithal to get a deal done, but it remains to be seen how the situation will develop.
