Tottenham Hotspur have approached the signing of an exciting young winger, with the club already in talks with Newcastle United to replace Anthony Gordon.

Gordon is delighted that Newcastle are looking for a new winger

Gordon described his move to Barcelona as a “dream come true” after signing a five-year contract with the Spanish champions.

The 25-year-old England forward, who joined from Newcastle on a contract until 2031, was finally introduced to the media on the club’s YouTube channel on Friday night.

Barça did not reveal the transfer fee when confirming his arrival, but the reported £69.3m means the Magpies have made a significant profit on the £45m they paid Everton for his services in January 2023.

“I’m so excited and so proud to be here. It’s a dream come true. I’m part of the best team in the world. Thank you.”

“I always wanted Barça. Barça, as I said then, Barça is the biggest club on the planet. It’s what I dreamed of as a child. It really is a dream come true.”

The Magpies are already in talks to sign a replacement, with reports this week revealing Real Betis forward Abdeh Ezarzouri is their number one target to arrive at St James’ Park.

But they are not the only ones in the race, with several Premier League teams lining up to do so, with Real Betis deciding they need to let at least one key player go this summer.

Tottenham join race to sign Ezarzurri

Aston Villa are interested in Ezarzurri and have made an approach, as has Tottenham, the Premier League’s busiest team at the start of the summer.

The 24-year-old is at home on the left, but can also play in an attacking midfield position.

He has scored 10 goals and provided eight assists in La Liga this season, and found the back of the net four times in the Europa League.

According to Whoscored’s rating system, the Moroccan international was the best player in the Spanish top flight this season who did not play for one of the two major teams.

Sport Witness has translated reports from Spain which claim Betis need to “make ends meet by June 30” and have already bought cheaper alternatives.

There is no price tag attached to Ezarzurri, according to reports, but he is thought to be worth around £35m.
