Julian Lawrence has helped Arsenal bounce back from a heartbreaking defeat in the Champions League final and conquer Europe in the coming years.
The Gunners defeated Paris Saint-Germain 1-1 in extra time at the Puskas Arena, before losing 4-3 on penalties.
Although the night belonged to Luis Enrique’s side who secured back-to-back European titles, Lawrence insists the future remains incredibly bright for Mikel Arteta’s newly crowned Premier League champions.

Arsenal’s Champions League victory is inevitable
Reflecting on the dramatic ending in Budapest, the eminent football pundit praised the French giants, but remained adamant about Arsenal’s upward trajectory under Arteta.
“What Luis Enrique has achieved in the last two years is absolutely incredible,” Lawrence said on BBC Radio 5 Live at the Puskas Arena after watching PSG retain the famous trophy.
“The current situation is cruel for Arsenal fans, but it is inevitable that this club will win the Champions League.”
Lawrence cited structural stability, the age profile of the elite squad and the tactical identity instilled by Arteta as reasons why the north London side remain a dominant force in Europe.
He views the loss less as a mental breakdown and more as a necessary stepping stone for a young team that just broke a 22-year national title drought.

Liverpool: Lost in the 2018 final to Real Madrid, but returned 12 months later and won the 2019 tournament.
Manchester City: Despite losing their first final to Chelsea in 2021, Josep Guardiola’s side corrected their mistakes and won the treble in 2023.
Arsenal now join the likes of Juventus and Atletico Madrid as the last team in the modern era to suffer defeat without lifting a trophy.
But given the club’s current momentum, Lawrence believes it is only a matter of time before the Gunners follow in the footsteps of City and Liverpool by turning their past heartbreak into a standard European pedigree.
