Leeds United aim to upgrade goalkeeping after outstanding season with 22 clean sheets

Leeds United are looking to sign a new goalkeeper in the summer, with Shakhtar Donetsk’s Dmytro Rznik among their targets.

According to a report from Football Insider, Leeds United are looking to bring in a proven goalkeeper who can start every week.

Karl Darlow is expected to sign a new contract with the club, but he is in the twilight stages of his career and Leeds do not want him to start every week. Lucas Perry, on the other hand, was quite inconsistent and failed to convince his manager.

The 27-year-old Shakhtar goalkeeper could be an ideal signing. He has been impressed with the Ukrainian team, with the player keeping 22 clean sheets in all competitions.

The opportunity to move to the Premier League could be an exciting one for him. Leeds United aim to build a team that can compete in the Premier League every year, and there is no doubt that Riznik will help improve the team. The player is at the peak of his career and it’s the perfect time to step up and join a big club. At this stage of his career, a move to the Premier League would be the ideal challenge for him.

His contract with Shakhtar runs until the end of 2027 and he could be forced to sell this summer. They wouldn’t want to lose him for nothing next year. It would make sense to sell him this summer for a fair price and replace him appropriately.
