Real Sociedad winger Ander Barrenetia has been linked with a move to the Premier League, with clubs including Arsenal and Tottenham showing interest in him.
According to Sportboom, the London club are keeping a close eye on the Spanish winger and it remains to be seen whether they will make a move for him. He has a long-term contract with a legitimate club, which includes a release clause of 75 million euros.
There is no pressure on Real Sociedad to allow him to leave, and any club wanting to sign him may have to pay a premium. According to the newspaper, Arsenal are preparing an opening offer of 30 million euros for the player. It remains to be seen whether the Spanish team is ready to accept this offer.
They need more quality in the final third and Barenezia could be the ideal signing. Arsenal won the league title, but they need to continue to improve their squad so that they can compete in all aspects next year. Barenezia has the physicality and technical attributes to suit English football and could be a valuable asset for the governors. He can play on either flank and will help create chances for his teammates and also find the back of the net.
Similarly, Tottenham need more quality in their flanks. They have been lacking offensively this season. They need more cutting-edge unpredictability going forward. The Spanish winger will contribute to the team’s growth. It remains to be seen where he will end up. The asking price could be a bit of an issue for both clubs. Transfers could be difficult this summer if the club decides to settle for paying a premium.
The 24-year-old has four goals and five assists this season.
